In an effort to make the loyal UK fanbase feel that extra bit special, senior product manager for the Wii Rob Lowe told MCV UK that the new edition will hit the UK before any other country
Nintendo is the latest company to announce a new product in the hopes of tempting the credit cards out of consumers' wallets in the run up to Christmas. The Japanese manufacturer has revamped the Nintendo Wii - with a limited edition black coloured version of the popular console launching in a couple of weeks time.
In an effort to make the loyal UK fanbase feel that extra bit special, senior product manager for the Wii Rob Lowe told MCV UK that the new edition will hit the UK before any other country, including the States. It seems that Nintendo wants to steal a march on the competition by launching the Wii “in time for the Christmas sales season which start slightly earlier in the UK and Republic of Ireland [than elsewhere].”
The console will come with a Wii Remote, Wii Motionplus and a nunchuck all of which will be black, as well as a copy of Wii Sports Resort and Wii Sports. Nintendo is also planning a Classic Controller Plus in noir.
From the picture, we have to say that the Wii is looking better than ever. You can get your hands on one of these limited edition beauties from the 6th of November if you fork out £179.99. Anyone in mainland Europe will have to wait until the 20th of November, the same date that the coloured accessories will go on sale.
