how to block kids from websites at home from adult content

Do you want your children to be protected from accessing porn sites and other explicit content on the world wide web? almost all the antivirus and internet security such as Kaspersky, Norton, mcafee , Avira, AVG, BITDEFENDER etc has the feature of parental control which blocks the access to most of the offensive and porn websites i think the price of these security products has dropped drastically and it can be easily affordable and Parental control is a must in this age of web as most of the kids now a days use internet for these kind of activities than to gain knowledge, most of the antivirus and internet security products give protection to such an extent so that
--> you can even set the time till what time the internet should be available on the computer
-->you can even block the individual contact on his IM and control with whom he or she is chatting to,
-->you can see the logs of the websites that child tried to access and that was being blocked and
-->your child cannot disable or exit the anti virus as it is password protected.

below are the steps to enable parental control on some of the Anti virus, i personally use KASPERSKY INTERNET SECURITY from long time and it is the best anti virus as far as i am concerned, below is a snap shot which was taken when i tried to access a porn site while parental control was enabled.

To set the Parental control on norton antivirus:

1. In the Norton Internet Security window click user Account login in the left side menu press login button
2. Type your password and click ok
3. Now in left hand menu click user accounts and select parental control wizard link
4. Select whether to use existing Windows accounts (if your kids have their own separate accounts for use on the PC) or Norton Internet Security Accounts (if you don't have accounts set up under Windows), then click Next.
5. Type password if already password is applied else give new password confirm and continue
6. If there are members in your family who share the same PC then give the name of the member who uses the PC and give the privelege from the drop down box below is the list of access permission you can assign to a person

-->child: very limited access he cant change any of the account settings
-->Teenager: He can access little more of the content on the net still cannot change any account settings
-->Adult: Has full access to the interenet and can change his own account settings but not for any one else
-->Supervisor: Has full access to the intenet and also accounts of others and he has the ability to turn parental control off and on he is like the admin.

7. Now select the account which should treat as default and click next and finish


To Set up parental control in Kaspersky


1. Double click on the Kaspersky icon in system tray
2. In the protection window select Content Filtering and click on Parental control as show in below pic
3. Now it asks to set password give old password if already set or give new password and confirm it
4. There are tons of options in new version of kaspersky for parental control and with a little time on it you can understand easily and even new computer user can understand in a short while.


To Set Parental control in bit defender follow below steps

1. Open BitDefender advanced tab view click on parental control module
2. In the right hand side select the list of all window users present on the PC.
3. Now double click on the user who you want to restrict and you can see the Parental control setup of Bitdefender
4. In bit defender you can set the Tolerance upto five levels depending on the person you want limit access to
5. There are some of the modules where you can restrict

WEB:
-->You can create a list of websites you want to block or list of allowed websites
-->Or you can let the bitdefender heuristic technology to do the job

Applications:
-->You can even add the list of applications to the list so that it cannot be executed such as outlook express, outlook, etc

IM:
-->you can block certain IM contacts so that they cannot be able to chat with the person whom you restrict

Time Limiter:
-->you can even disable interent for a certain period of time interval and many more

Though these are some of the techniques on how to protect your kids from the internet bug now a days kids are so smart they always be trying to find a way to hack the system by using proxy, medling with core antivirus configurations dll's etc so along with the protection given by these products and a personal touch from your side from frequently monitoring your kids will protect kids from being spoilt at the young and tender age.
